What is on this site is here because a source says so, or because the owner confirmed it. These are the sources we used.
Why this page exists
Plenty of stories circulate about old windmills, and not all of them are accurate. So we would rather leave something out than fill in the blanks ourselves.
Where sources contradict each other — for instance about who bought the mill in 1929 and gave it its name — we say so rather than pick a side.
What does not come from a source
The practical details about the accommodation (capacity, layout, facilities, times, rates and house rules) come from Specialstays, who rent out and manage the property, and from the owner.
De Hoop windmill has no phone number or email address of its own. Questions about dates, prices and availability go through Specialstays.
Rented and managed by Specialstays
The calendar is open; book directly through Specialstays.
