Windmill De Hoop

Single-level group accommodation for eighteen people, in the barn and the round base of a working 1870 tower mill.

Eighteen people, all on one level

You drive into Elen and see it long before you arrive: an 1870 tower mill with its octagonal gallery running round it like a ring. The mill itself is still a mill — in working order, protected, and in use.

The accommodation sits beside and around it: the barn and half of the round base at the foot of the mill were converted into group accommodation for eighteen people. Everything is on the ground floor, so no spiral stairs and no dragging suitcases upstairs.

That makes this unusually suitable for parties where not everyone is steady on their feet: three generations, grandparents included, small children still finding their legs. Everyone sleeps on the same level, around the same yard.
