Weekend with friends in the Meuse valley
During the day everyone fans out over water, villages and paths. In the evening the group returns to one address with a kitchen that can handle a crowd.
The day starts at the door
Cycle nodes lead straight out of the village into open country, past gravel lakes, dykes and ferries. To the west the Meuse valley runs into the woods and heath of the Hoge Kempen.
Cooking for eighteen
The kitchen is set up for a group: induction, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, espresso machine and enough crockery and utensils to cook properly rather than improvise.
The evening under one lamp
Outside there is a table with the barbecue and fire pit within reach. Above that table hangs a lamp by Lieske Schreuder; once it gets dark it lays a warm ring of light over the party.
